My sister-in-law was born in Istanbul, Turkey. She has blessed me with many beautiful gifts from that ancient and vital city. She has taught me about the significance of the tulip in Turkish design. Eggs speak to me of new life. There is a symbolism of the organic source of life in the eggs and symbolism regarding the geographic location of humanities' origin in the tile. Meaning in my still lifes often present themselves after I am well into a piece of art or after the work is completed. I find this very interesting. This painting is matted but unframed.
