I used yupo as my painting surface. Yupo paper has a slick- plastic like surface. Painting this way is extremely challenging. Watercolor does not act like watercolor on it. The pigment sits on the surface and so dark darks are achieved easily but the paint takes incredibly long to dry!  I don't always consciously think about color theory as I am setting up subject matter for a still life. But I think the color palette I used here was very effective and as I look at my color wheel I see the analogous use of color in the yellow orange yellow and yellow green. Those three are directly across from the violet I used as shadow in the white daffodils.   The second primary of blue is a nice kick in the mix. I hope you agree with me! My framing is always archival. The frame is a warm silver metal called German Silver.
