cut paper

triptych each measuring 20" x 14"

I went to an art exhibit at the contemporary art museum in Madison- the MMOCA. I came away quite impressed with some huge cut paper art. It was created by a Chinese artist. I remember the work being red and of an urban scene. Back in my studio I decided to do a cut paper triptych of crows in winter. It was painstaking and time consuming but I really enjoyed the process. It was just something I had to do. I had no plans for it until I decided to enter it in a nationally competitive juried show called "Wings and Water." I am happy to say that it was accepted and then received both an honorable mention and people's choice award.
